Eric Abbott

Eric was raised with the ocean as an extension of his Wailupe home, which explains his uncanny comfort and confidence on the water. As a celebrated kayaker and 6 person outrigger paddler at Punahou High School, he wanted to see how far he could take his love for the sport in the competitive world. As a hand selected member of the United States Kayak team he has trained since 2006 at the Olympic training center in Chula Vista San Diego, and competed in world class events all over the world.

Besides a passion for national and international competition, Eric also competes on both surfskis and paddleboards and has placed 3rd in the world twice during the Molokai to Oahu World Championships in 2008 and 2009. His passions has also allowed him to cross the famous   Kaiwi (Molokai) Channel not only on paddleboards, but surfskis and outrigger canoes as well.

Now, as a full time PR and Marketing student at the University of San Diego, Eric is using his media skills to promote the sports and home he loves so much.
